On the evening of November 7, 2008, more than 100 residents,
dignitaries, and honored guests assembled in the Turtle Room of 3525
Turtle Creek to celebrate two very important milestones in the
history of the building: its Fiftieth Anniversary and it inclusion
on the National Register of Historic Places. |
Chairperson Olive Anne McLaughlin introduced Laura Leppert, wife
of Dallas Mayor Tom Leppert, who read a City Council Resolution
honoring 3525 on its golden anniversary and Katherine Seale,
Executive Director of Preservation Dallas, who presented the
building with the certificate from the National Park Service of the
Department of the Interior. |
The evening also included a video documentary produced by
Emmy-award winning 3525 resident Tom Bywaters, introduction of
special guests including members of the families of Edward Dicker
and Jerome Frank, remarks by Texas State Representative Dan Branch, and a
champagne toast. |
