3525 hits the big 5-0
By Alan Peppard, The Dallas Morning News, 5 November 2008
Thursday night, denizens of 3525 Turtle creek will celebrate the 50th anniversary of the condo high-rise with a gala in the landmark building's Turtle Room.
Just in time for the milestone, the Howard Meyer-designed modernist edifice was approved for the National Register of historic Places.
Over the decades the posh address for the wealthy and famous (and occasionally infamous). Greer Garson and her oilman husband, E.E. ”Buddy” Fogelson, occupied the penthouse; Hunt Petroleum matriarch Margaret Hunt Hill had almost an entire floor; Sen. John Tower called the building home; and singer-actor-sausage maker Jimmy Dean kept a residence there for years.
